Construction on the A59 improvements started in March 2025. The majority of the works, including the new CYCLOPS junction at Kenyons Lane, was completed in early 2026.
Unfortunately there are still some outstanding electrical connections meaning there are some works not yet completed around Robbins Roundabout.
We expect the electrical works to be completed shortly, after which the Contractors will return and the final footway works will be completed and new signal crossings switched on. This will then mark the completion of the scheme.
CYCLOPS section complete
The CYCLOPS junction benefits local pupils travelling to school, through providing safe and accessible crossing facilities.
The improvements also increase the capacity of the junction, which is important ahead of the new local housing development.
