Holiday, Activities and Food Programme (HAF)

Sefton HAF (Holiday Activities and Food Programme)

Sefton’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme offers free, high‑quality activities during the Easter school holidays for children and young people who receive Benefit‑Related Free School Meals.

To get a free place on the HAF programme, a child or young person must be receiving Benefit‑Related Free School Meals.

Please note:
All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 automatically get a free school meal through the Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM) scheme. However, this does not mean they qualify for a free HAF place.

Infant‑age children must also meet the criteria for Benefit‑Related Free School Meals to receive funded HAF sessions.

Parents and carers should contact the activity Providers directly to book a place or to ask for more information.

Some Providers may also offer places funded through other schemes, or they may have paid options for families who are not eligible for a free HAF place.

Please remember that places are limited and session availability may change.
We encourage families to book as early as possible to avoid missing out.

Who is the programme for?

Young people aged 5-16 years (or 4-year-olds if in reception) and eligible for and receiving benefit related free school meals are eligible to take part in the HAF Programme.
