Support for Mental Health and Wellbeing

Sefton's 'We’re Here' Campaign is for local people looking for support with their mental health. It provide people with links to a broad range of local help and support available for a wide variety of issues as well as contacts more immediate support for a crisis.

Mental Health

We all have mental health. Being healthier doesn’t just mean having a healthy body, it also means having a healthy mind.

Sometimes our mental health is good and other times we may feel like we are struggling. Your mind is like any other part of your body, it needs looking after and some exercise. Having good mental health can help us feel better, sleep better and support us in doing the things we want to do. It can also help us have more positive relationships with those around us.

Good mental health is the foundation for well-being and the effective functioning of individuals and communities. It impacts on how we feel, communicate and understand. It enables us to manage our lives successfully and live to our full potential. It can also help us have more positive relationships with those around us.

The Children and Young People’s Mental Health Snapshot

A collaboration of organisations, that sit within the Sefton Emotional Health Partnership has developed a Children and Young People’s Mental Health Snapshot.

The document provides an overview of some of the children and young people’s mental health services that are available in Sefton.

The snapshot can be used as a tool to support professionals in making referrals to mental health services, allowing children and young people to access appropriate and timely support.

The mental health snapshot has been developed following stakeholder feedback to provide an updated alternative to the previously created Mental Health Toolkit. Frontline practitioner feedback has also shaped the development of the mental health snapshot as it specified a need for a short, concise document that outlines mental health support for Sefton’s young people.

The 2- sided snapshot has been created using the THRIVE themes:

  • Getting advice
  • Getting help
  • Get more help
  • Getting risk support

The THRIVE model is a national model based on the needs of young people rather than diagnosis. The model aims to support young people and ensure they receive the evidence-based treatment they need to thrive and enjoy positive mental health.
