Two new free training events for local landlords

Sefton Council has set up a café drop-in event on Energy Efficiency for landlords on Friday 29th November.
Retrofit for Lets
Taking place at Southport Market between 12 noon and 3pm, the free event is part of the Retrofit for Lets programme. It will be hosted by sustainability charity Pure Leapfrog, who are leading the government-funded project to help private landlords.
Free energy advice will be available to any local landlords who come along to the café drop-in on Friday 29th. A limited number of grant-funded retrofit assessments to help identify potential energy efficiency upgrades will be available.
Healthy Homes Project
Sefton is one of 40 local Authorities picked to take part in the Government's Healthy Homes Project, an initiative to test different approaches to improving damp and mould enforcement in private rented homes.
Attendees can at the event can gain valuable insights into making their property more energy efficient while enjoying a complimentary drink.

Free damp, mould & condensation training
Sefton Council is also providing free online training for Landlords on Damp, Mould & condensation on Monday 9th December. Taking place between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
Hosted by the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA), the session aims to help landlords understand the law around dampness and condensation, identify their causes, and remove them and prevent reoccurrence.

Helpful, interesting and informative
Around 30 landlords attended a recent Sefton Council-organised event that covered, the Healthy Homes Project and the Government’s Renters Rights Bill. Feedback was positive with one local landlord describing the event as “very helpful, interesting and informative”.
