Sefton Council and One Vision Housing Tackle Fly-Tipping in Bootle
27 June 2025 3min read
Sefton Council and One Vision Housing (OVH) have been busy clearing more fly-tipping in Bootle, as part of ongoing efforts to create cleaner, safer neighbourhoods for residents.
Removed large fly-tipped items
This latest clean-up has taken place around Greenacres Nursery, where teams removed large fly-tipped items and overhanging trees from the alleyways surrounding the nursery. This work is part of a phased approach, with a full clearance including a scrape and brush-out scheduled for late June to early July.
Committed to identifying perpetrators
Sefton Council and OVH are inspecting all reported incidents of fly-tipping across the Borough and are committed to identifying perpetrators and taking appropriate enforcement action where evidence is found.
The team at Greenacres Nursery were pleased with the initial clean-up, and further improvements are already planned.
Damages community spirit
Councillor Peter Harvey, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Cleansing & Street Scene, said:
“Fly-tipping is selfish. It damages community spirit as well as being illegal. The work carried out adjacent to Greenacres Nursery is a fantastic example of how we can make a real, visible difference, especially in places that matter most to families and children.
Helps everyone
Neil Kenwright, Head of Neighbourhood Services at One Vision Housing, added:
“This kind of environmental improvement helps everyone. It’s about restoring pride in our neighbourhoods and community spaces. The response from the nursery and local community has been really positive, and we’ll be returning to complete the job in the coming weeks as part of our planned programme. We’re proud to work alongside Sefton Council and residents to build a cleaner, safer neighbourhood.”
