People living around Bootle’s Salt and Tar are being invited to a drop-in session on this year’s planned events at the venue.
Letters being sent
With planning well underway on Salt and Tar’s 2025 programme, letters are being sent to people living in the area inviting them to the event, which takes place between 4pm and 6pm on on Wednesday 26th February at Bootle Hive in the Strand Shopping Centre.
Dates already confirmed for the coming year are the Salt and Tar Fringe from Friday 23rd to Sunday 26th May and Sefton Pride on Saturday 14th June. The Salt and Tar Food & Drink Festival will take place over the weekend of 12th and 13th July. And Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th August will see the return of the venue’s Live Music Weekend.
The 26th February drop-in will be a chance for local residents to call in and have a chat with Salt and Tar’s management team. They can provide feedback and ask questions or discuss any concerns they may have surrounding the upcoming events.
Large-scale events, community weekends and one-offs
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills, said: “Salt and Tar is becoming an increasingly important local venue both for large-scale events like the Music Weekender and the Comedy Festival, but also for community weekends and one-offs like the Teenage Market.
“Right from the start we have worked hard to maintain a good dialogue and relationship with local people who will be affected by some of the events taking place. Plus, we have been keen to find out what they want to see at the venue on their doorstep.
“This drop-in will be an opportunity to continue that process, to tell them a little more about what they can expect and to hear their feedback so that we can take it into account in our future planning.”
Details to emerge
As more plans are finalised, further information details will emerge but like last year, there will be road closures in place during the larger live events. The Salt and Tar Team is working to ensure that this causes as little disruption to the local area as possible.
