Letter sent to parents and carers of Southport schools pupils
30 August 2024 3 min read
Letters signed by headteachers from the Southport Learning Partnership, the Leader of Sefton Council and the Council’s Assistant Director for Education are being sent to parents and carers of pupils attending schools in Southport ahead of next week’s start to the new academic year.
Sincere and heartfelt thoughts
As well as offering their sincere and heartfelt thoughts to those impacted by the tragic events of 29th July, and remembering Alice, Bebe and Elsie Dot, the letter expresses their solidarity with all families.
The letter also encourages open communication between schools and parents to help ensure the return to school is a calm and reassuring one for everyone. And it has a reminder that people can find information on the support that is available at www.sefton.gov.uk/southport-together.
This week Family Hubs in Southport will be hosting drop-ins this week for people to grab a coffee, have a chat and find support if they need it and teams will be out and about in the Southport community this week as pupils go back to school.
