Sefton's Jack highly commended in LABC awards ceremony

A trainee building control officer at Sefton Council has been praised for his work ethic at a leading industry awards ceremony.
Jack Calveley has was handed the title of ‘Highly Commended’ in the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Newcomer of the Year awards for the North West of England
Judges heaped praise on the 32 year old for his innovation and work ethic after being nominated in two separate categories by his Sefton Council colleague and mentor.
Jack said: “I would like to thank Sefton for the continued support and guidance which has helped me develop as a Building control officer.
“Since starting with the Sefton Council Building Control service my colleagues have been fantastic and quickly welcomed me with open arms.”
Ian Berrington, Sefton Council’s Building Control Service Manager, said: “I’m delighted but unsurprised that Jack was highly commended by judges for his efforts.
“He is an invaluable and hard working member of our team and a great asset to Sefton Council.
“This is not the first time a team or individual from Sefton has been recognised by the LABC and it reflects how invaluable the Planning and Building Control service is to the wider organisation.”
