Almost 300 responses have already been submitted to Sefton Council’s consultation on the second stage of its Les Transformations De Southport project.
“Les Transformations de Southport” is a scheme that will improve connectivity across the whole town centre. It includes improved pedestrian facilities, better links to the railway station and the creation of new public spaces for hosting events.
Phase 2 looks at potential changes to how people travel around the promenade and surrounding streets.
The proposals aim to make accessibility and connectivity better for people between the town centre and the iconic promenade of Southport.
Your feedback matters
People are being asked to give their views on enhancements for pedestrian facilities, the improvement of links to the Marine Lake Events Centre and the creation of new public spaces that can be enjoyed by visitors.
Sefton Council wants business owners, schools, visitors, and representatives from the transport and tourism sectors to have their say. Residents from the wider Southport area are also being encouraged to contribute their views.
The feedback received will be instrumental in shaping the final design of these transformative improvements. It will also help ensure the work in Phase 2 meets the needs of the community.

“Phase 2 of this project will improve connectivity to the Promenade and MLEC and it is vital that the views of residents, businesses, and visitors are considered during the design progresses.
