The 2023 Bootle Climate Action Festival returned for it’s second year this September, taking place at Salt and Tar at Bootle Canalside.

The one-day community event was a success with over 400 people attending, all with the aim of coming together to highlight the ‘green’ measures that can help to protect the local community and live more sustainably.

There was a range of activities on offer, from the canoe canal clean up, to renewable smoothie making with Living Well Sefton, and cooking demonstrations to show what can be created with surplus fresh produce.

And live music was provided all day by the amazing Ukelele band The Quay Notes.

The event is organised by Bootle-based social enterprise Regenerus and the Taking Root in Bootle community gardening network.

The event is supported by Sefton Council’s Linacre Ward councillors and sponsored by eco printers The Printroom UK.

The VIP guests at the event were the Wombles Orinoco and Great Uncle Bulgaria who helped with litter picking at the site.
