Approaching 150 people attended the InvestSefton Economic Forum event at The Lake House in Waterloo on Thursday 14th November.
Delegates and businesses heard an update on the proposed development plans for Maghull Health Park from Sefton Council’s Strategic Commissioner for Regeneration, Heather Jago, and Professor Nicola Wilson who is Programme Director for the Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Economic update
Julie Lawson, BEM DL Deputy Lieutenant of Merseyside gave a presentation on The Kings Award for Enterprise, and the Bank of England’s Ken Clark provided an informative economic update.
Open to Sefton businesses of any size and from any sector, the Sefton Economic Forum is organised by InvestSefton, the Council’s enterprise, business support and inward investment service. Taking place twice a year, Economic Forums also provide an opportunity for networking and the chance to speak with business support organisations.
In this short video made at the event by Mandy Lalley of local film and TV production company Space Hound Ltd, delegates talk about why they attend the Economic Forum.
Full house
Cllr Paulette Lappin, Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Economy and Skills said: “Once again, our InvestSefton Economic Forum event was a huge success with a full house. I am pleased to see from the video how and why local firms are keen to attend the event and the benefits they take back to their desks afterwards.
“The next Economic Forum takes place at Formby Hall in June 2025. So as our Business Growth Adviser Julie Swarbrick says in the video, ‘If you have been to an Economic Forum before, come to the next one and if you haven’t been to an Economic Forum before, come to the next one’.”
