Fraud warning: Careline services

We have been made aware of potential fraud attempts linked to Careline packages. The scam appears to be calls claiming to offer a free Careline service. They may ask for bank details and family contact details.

Sefton Careline is a personal alarm and telecare service designed to help elderly and vulnerable residents live safely and confidently in their own homes.

Delivered by Sefton Council through our award-winning Alarm Receiving Centre – SeftonArc, we offer 24/7 support, 365 days a year.

With just the touch of a button, you or your loved one can get help when it's needed most. Our technology-enabled care service provides:

  • Personal Alarm Pendants – worn on the wrist or neck for quick, easy alerts
  • Lifeline Alarm Units – installed in your home for fast connection to our support team
  • Fall Detectors – trigger an alert automatically if a fall occurs
  • Motion & Movement Sensors – track activity to spot potential issues
  • Smoke, Carbon Monoxide & Flood Detectors – to keep your home safe
  • GPS Trackers – for peace of mind outside the home
  • Lone Worker Devices – supporting those who work alone
  • Key Safe Installations – secure emergency access for responders

If an alert is triggered, it goes straight to our monitoring centre, where trained professionals will decide the best course of action.

Charges and Installation

We offer free installation of your Careline equipment.

Monitoring Charges:

  • £21.70/month (via Direct Debit) – for a standard pendant and lifeline (home only).
  • £22.90/month (via Direct Debit) – for a falls pendant or GPS tracking device (can be used outdoors).

We also offer a wide range of additional assistive technology, including:

  • Bed and chair sensors
  • Epilepsy (Epi) sensors
  • Door sensors
  • Smoke alarms

These are available to purchase separately at cost price from our trusted suppliers.
